PRESS RELEASE    –    ASBESTOS, Glasgow

We are holding a major lobby at Glasgow City Chambers, George Square on Thursday 29th March 2012 at 11.30am to call on our ‘elected representatives’ (Councillors) for the City to support an Independent Sample Survey on the ASBESTOS ISSUE.

Glasgow Housing Association Ltd have potentially exposed thousands of tenants, factored home owners and workers to asbestos during the major city wide kitchens, bathrooms and rewiring (KBR) refurbishment works between 2005 and the present.

We are holding this event to call on our public representatives to contact the Housing Minister, Keith Brown to support our call for an Independent Sample Survey of work practices carried out in relation to the management of  ASBESTOS during city wide refurbishment work (kitchens, bathrooms, rewiring and over cladding, re-roofing etc.).

We are asking our Councillors to contact Keith Brown, Housing Minister to demand that the Scottish Government carry out an Independent Sample Survey on the ASBESTOS ISSUE.
